Nominees for Jules Anthony Cricket Club awards named

The 59 nominees are in, the next thing is to announce the winners of the 20 categories of adjudication, when the Jules Anthony Cricket Club will host its inaugural awards ceremony on the evening of January 2, 2021, at the Petit Bordel hard court.

Nominees

  • Male cricketer of the year: O’ Jay Matthews, Dorson Cottle, Donald Delpesche.
  • Female cricketer of the year: Shenol Lewis, Sueann Matthews, Yolande Granderson.
  • Under-19 male player of the year: Kirtney Franklyn, AJ Delpesche, Reshawn Lewis.
  • Under-15 male player of the year: Orico Mathews, Orino Slack, Kewonnie Matthews.
  • Most promising female player of the year: Denela Creese, Sherry Anne Gaymes, Delita Bentick.
  • Most promising male player of the year: Kirtney Franklyn, O’Jay Matthews, AJ Delpesche.
  • Best male bastman of the year: Tilron Harry, O’Jay Matthews, Leshawn Lewis.
  • Best male bowler of the year : Jade Matthews, Maxwall Edwards, Dorson Cottle.
  • Best female bowler of the year: Delita Bentick, Shenol Lewis, Yolande Granderson.
  • Female youth player of the year: Denela Creese, Sherryanne Gaymes, Kerrace Boyea.
  • Male youth cricketer of the year: Kirtney Franklyn, AJ Delpesche, Reshawn Lewis.
  • Best female wicketkeeper: of the year: Kacy Johnson, Cottila Hooper.
  • Best male wicketkeeper of the year: Newbourne Joseph, Tilron Harry, Akeil Mason.
  • Best female allrounder of the year: Yolande Granderson, Nyasha Williams, Shenol Lewis.
  • Coach of the year: Ancil Hooper, Sueanna Matthews, Shamon Hooper.
  • Most disciplined male player of the year: Keyon Edwards, Akeil Mason, Leeshawn Lewis.
  • Most disciplined female player of the year: Sueann Matthews, Nyasha Williams, Kacy Johnson.
  • Most disciplined youth player of the year: Olani Slack, Sherryanne Gaymes, Orico Matthews.

Apart from the awards ceremony, there will two exciting netball and basketball matches.

Head of the Jules Anthony Cricket Club Elron Lewis, told SEARCHLIGHT: “The purpose of the awards ceremony is to show motivation to our talented cricketers in North Leeward, so that they can go out an play cricket to the best of their abilities, knowing that they will be rewarded for their performance”.

Lewis added, “This ceremony will also be used to motivate and encourage coaches to their jobs”.

The Jules Anthony Cricket Club, named after a late stalwart sports administrator and community activist of North Leeward, was officially launched August 1.
