SVGSF hosts invitational swim championships
The St Vincent and the Grenadines Swim Federation (SVGSF) from November 12 to 15, hosted an invitational championships at the Shrewsbury Aquatic Centre.
The championships filled the void of the planned OECS championships, which was to have taken place, but was severely stalled by the protocols associated with travel because of the threats of the coronavirus pandemic.
This meant that local swimmers made good of the occasion and enhanced their status.
Belle Adams took the females 8 and under individual and sprint titles. Similarly, Jadon
Hamilton won both the male 8 and under individual title and was the sprint champion.
Eltonique Leonard won the female 9-10 and Hazen Dabriel was the male winner of that age bracket.
Taking the female 11-12 was Kennice Greene and the male winner was Brandon George.
Mya De Freitas won the female 13- 14 and Eltonte Leonard, the male 13-14.
Winning the female 15 and over was Janyka Williams, while Kenale Alleyne secured the male 15 and over.
The other sprint champions were Zariel Nelson, the female 9- 12; Brandon George was the male 9-12 winner, while Mya De Freitas took the 13 and over and Aaron De Freitas, the male 13 and over.
