Out Ah Trouble stumbles in TBPO title defence

DEFENDING CHAMPIONS of the National Lotteries Authority TBPO 20/20 softball cricket competition, Country Meet Town Out ah Trouble, stumbled last Saturday against Bank of SVG All Stars at the Dauphine Playing Field, losing by six wickets.

Out Ah Trouble scored 93 for 6 in 15 overs, as the match was reduced because of a late start. Sunil Ambris hit 41 not out.

Glenroy Dasent and Kelique Samuel, both took 2 for 14 and Earl Pope grabbed 2 for 26.

All Stars replied with 95 for 4 in 14. 1 overs. Ron Adams scored 37 not out.

Before All Stars’ triumph, Fairbaine United won by five wickets over Sion Hill Tallawahs.

Batting first, Tallawahs posted 102 all out in 14.3 overs, in another match reduced to 15 overs, also because of a late start. Marlon Baptiste scored 34 and Parris Lavia, 26.

Bowling for Fairbaine United, Joelando Ledger took 2 for 11, Joel Browne, 2 for 18 and Mikian Delpeche, 2 for 22.

Fairbaine United replied with 106 for 5 in 12.4 overs, with Ronnel Simmons scoring 32. Alex Roberts took 2 for 11, bowling for Tallawahs.

Yesterday, D’s Blocks and Trucking Gomea Bombers defeated New Level by 19 runs in a 17-over per side match.

Gomea Bombers posted 104 for 9 from 17 overs, with Ovando O’Brien hitting 38.

Anthony John scalped 2 for 10, Felix Baptiste 2 for 27 and Ronald Scott, 2 for 34.

New Level in responded with 85 all out in 15.1 overs. New Level’s batting was undone by Raymond Sayers who had 4 for 26 and Allen Williams, 2 for 7.

Then Challengers overcame Nice Radio Clinchers by five runs.

Challengers made 91 for

8 from their 20 overs.

Kareem Peters scored 34 and Britnol Scott, 25.

Bowling for Clinchers, Donalson Harry snared 3 for 20 and Kerwin Browne, 2 for 13.

Clinchers’ batting faltered in their response, dismissed for 86 in 16.3 overs. Okeiph Andrews scored 20.

Ronike James took 3 for 30, Javon Seales, 2 for 13 and Winston Bascombe, 2 for 18, ensured Challengers’ win with the ball.

And, Sunset Strikers registered an 82-run win over Bruce Law Chambers Smashers in a match reduced to 15 overs because of a late start.

Sunset Strikers posted 108 for 8 from their 15 overs. Stein Joseph scored 29 and Kimron John, 20.

Smashers’ bowling saw St Clair Dickson taking 3 for 9, Zyron Harry, 2 for 23 and Cody Jarvis, 2 for 38.

Travis Cumberbatch then bagged 6 for 9, and Keneil Skinne, 3 for 16, to send Smashers packing for 26 in just 6.2 overs.
