Northern Stars make home advantage count

CARLOS JAMES MSDA Julius Anthony Northern Stars stomped on home ground at the Cumberland Playing Field last weekend, winning both their matches in the SVG Cricket Association Inc.

On Saturday, Northern Stars humbled Victors Two by 12 runs.

Mcleon Williams struck 59 and Jade Matthews, 57 not out, to lead Northern Stars to 179 for 2 in 20 overs. Victors Two, in turn were dismissed for 57 in 13 overs.

Bowling for Northern Stars, Ronique Laborde took 3 for 8 and Winston Samuel, 3 for 11.

Northen Stars added their second victory on Sunday at the expense of Keegan’s Bequia XI.

Leshawn Lewis blazed 72 from 24 balls, as Northern Stars posted 183 all out in 17.2 overs.

Bequia XI’s most successful bowler was Jenry Ollivierre, who bagged 5 for 34.

In response, Bequia XI made 130 for 9, falling short by 53 runs. Jarrell Edwards topscored with 30. Winston Samuel’s 4 for 24, was Northern Stars best figures by any bowler.
