Curtains come down on the National Club Championships Premier Division
The premier division of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation’s 2019/2020 National Club Championships has concluded.
The division’s last round of matches was played on the weekend, with the remaining eleven placeds decided, as Hope International was already crowned champions.
The results of round 22, showed wins for Hope International, Avenues United, Sion Hill, System Three and North Leeward Predators.
Hope International ended the championships on a winning note, beating BESCO-Pastures 3-2. Valdo Anderson struck a brace and Wendell Cuffy, the other for Hope International, while Chavel Cunningham netted both items for BESCO-Pastures.
Avenues United, on the back of an Erel Hector strike, defeated Greiggs one-nil, while Sion Hill stopped SV United 3-2.
Scoring for Sion Hill, were Tyrese Dickson, Rohan Thomas Jr. and Karanji Alexander. Curtlon Jack, scored both goals for SV United.
Meanwhile, System Three swamped Bequia United 9-1. Desborn Lavia, 3, Denzil Bascombe, 2, while Jante James, Chad Haynes, Carlos Solomon and Aeron Collis, scored one each. Bequia United’s lone goal was scored by Camal Bess.
And, North Leeward Predators by way of an Andeen Charles strike, edged out Je Belle one-nil.
Hope International finished on 50 points, while System Three tallied 45 points. Taking the third place was North Leeward Predators with43 points and fourth was Je Belle, also on 43 points.
BESCO-Pastures, the 2018/2019 winners had to settle for fourth place on 35 points. Sion Hill, on 29 points ended sixth; Avenues United on 27 points were seventh and Awesome FC, 26 points, eighth.
The next four outfits, SV United (24 points), Greiggs (19 points), Camdonia-Chelsea and Bequia United, both on 17 points, have all been relegated to the lower tier, the first division.
The four demoted teams will be replaced by Layou United and Largo Height, which finished first and second respectively in the first division.
This means that the premier, first and second division of the next club championships, will have ten teams each.
