Breakaway masters football tournament to take place

It is better late than never, as the 2020 edition of the Breakaway Masters firms invitational football tournament will definitely be held.

The tournament is set to kick off Saturday, September 12, at the Grammar School Playing Field, following clearance from the St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation and the local health authorities.

For this year’s tournament there will be an open tournament between firms and under 19s, as well as the under-16s and a female tournament.

Orgainisers say that they will be taking the first 12 firms teams, first four Under- 19 teams, six under-16 and in the first four female teams.

Registration to the tournament closes on September 4, and will be done on a first come first serve basis.

The tournament, which normally gets started in the month of July, has had to be delayed and scaled down, because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

This year marks the tenth edition of the tournament.
