Marriaqua Village Cup gets sponsorship boost

East Caribbean Bottlers Inc. and the Memorial Funeral Home, producers of Village Ram, are the two major sponsors boosting the Marriaqua Village Cup t/20 softball cricket competition.

In matches played last Sunday at the Cane End Playing Field, Dr Thomas Yambou and One Team of Richland Park, were the triumphant teams.

Batting first, Yambou scored 117 all out. Danny Baptiste scored 25 and Akeil Jack, 21.

Bowling for Mount Pleasant, Kimron John took 2 for 3, Adolph Adams, 2 for 9, Elford Adams, 2 for 29 and Jarando Jardine, 2 for 38.

Mount Pleasant were dismissed for 59, as Tex Frankln had 3 for 10, Kemold Thomas, 3 for 14 and Wendell Corridon, 2 for 12, as Yambou won by 58 runs.

And, One Team of Richland Park made 150 all out. Britnol Scott scored 71. Dorian Dallaway was the pick of Fairbaine’s bowling, as he snared 4 for 28, while Nickie Antoine chipped in with 3 for 37.

But Fairbaine’s batting fell short by 58 runs, bowled out for 92. Kentish Phillips scored 37.

One Team’s bowling was led by Kelique Peters, who grabbed 3 for 21 and Sunil Pompey and Enrique Daniel had 2 for 11 and 2 for 30, respectively.

Zone A comprises Country Meet Town Freeland One, Glenside, Enhams, SDA Richland Park, Cane End and Carriere. In Zone B are Country Meet Town Freeland Two, Riley, Doctor Thomas Yambou, Mount Pleasant, One Team High Park, Fairbaine.
