United Survivors champ women’s super- 40 competition

United Survivors clinched another title in women’s cricket here, when on Saturday, they beat arch rivals J.G Tigress and Sons Tigress to win the St Vincent and the Grenadines Cricket Association Inc. women’s super–40 competition.

Tigress got to 127 for 9 from 32.5 of their allotted 36 overs, as the match was reduced because of a late start at the Arnos Vale One Playing Field. Edlyn Turtin hit 35 and Isha Williams, 23.

Jannillea Glasgow, with 3 for 26, Cordel Jack, 2 for 14 and Shevorne Clarke, 2 for 16, were the main wicket-takers for the United Survivors, who replied with 128 for 5.

Samantha Lynch (50 not out) and Kimone Homer (39), shared in a 77-run third-wicket partnership. Rochelle John, with figures of 2 for 24, was the most successful bowler for J.G Tigress and Sons Tigress.

Taking the third spot was Radcliffe Girls, who handed Jules Anthony MSDA Northern Girls a 61-runs defeat at the Sion Hill Playing Field.

Julianna Nero (56) and Tracy Byron (31) pushed Radcliffe Girls to 196 for 9 in their reduced allotment of 35 overs. There were two wickets apiece for Shonell Lewis, Delita Bentick and Veron Gordon.

In reply, the Jules Anthony MSDA Northern Girls were dismissed for 135 from 27 overs. Sue-Ann Matthews scored 32, while Tomesha Brackin took 2 for 33 .

United Survivors ended on 12 points, J.G Tigress and Sons Tigress – 8 points, Radcliffe Girls – 4 points and Julius Anthony MSDA Northern Girls ended without a point.
