NACAC online officiating seminar ongoing

North America, Central America and Caribbean Athletics Association (NACAC), in light of the threats of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, has initiated an online seminar for technical officials.

The seminar, which started July 13, is pitched at the apprentice level. The officiating seminar takes place on Mondays and Thursdays, from 7 p.m., Eastern Standard Time.

Among the topics listed for the seminar are the officiating philosophy, general technical rules, running events rules and applications, road races and cross country, jumping events (vertical and horizontal), throwing events (shot putt, hammer throw and discus), along with combined events, including race walk.

Responsible for imparting the knowledge to the prespective technical officials are Ileta Potter, John Andalcio, John Paul Clrake, Garth Gayle, Stephen Rahming, Esther Maynard, and Durly Lucas.

The seminar winds up August 6, with a question sessions from participants.
