National cricket first division quarter finalists determined

POLICE ONE and Carlos James Julius Anthony MSDA Northern Stars clinched the last two quarter-finals spots when the preliminary round of the National Lotteries Authority first division on Sunday.

At the Sion Hill Playing Field, Police One outdid Strike Eagles by 87 runs.

Police One belted 247 all out off 29.4 overs. Kenroy Williams scored 41 not out.

Bowling for Strike Eagles, Jazard Farrell took 2 for 44 and Javid Wilson, 2 for 53.

Strike Eagles were dismissed for 160 in 21 overs. Kevin Peters stroked 70 off just 35 balls, including five sixes and six boundaries. Rueford Jack was the most successful bowler for Police One with figures of 3 for 37.

Meanwhile, at Arnos Vale One, Victors Two had a six-wicket win over Radcliffe Two. Fielding only seven players, Radcliffe Two could only make 44 in 17.3 overs. Shamic Roberts picked up 3 for 19.

Victors Two rushed to 46 for 4 from 7.5 overs. Kyle Bobb grabbed 3 for 22 for Radcliffe Two.

The win by Victors Two instead aided Northern Stars’ cause, as they were able to improve their net run rate.

At the nearby Arnos Vale Two, Pollard Investments North Windward Combine emerged winners of Group B, with a 16-run win over Keegan’s Bequia XI.

North Windward Combine got to 203 all out from 28.3 overs, with Shem Browne scoring 69.

Iran Mack was the pick of Bequia XI’s bowling, taking 5 for 35.

Bequia XI’s response ended at 187 all out in 28.5 overs. Orlando Lavia topscored with 62.

Orwin Williams, Kerwin Williams, Braxie Browne and Dean Browne, all took two wickets apiece for North Windward Combine.

And, in the other scheduled match, set for the Stubbs Playing Field, Smashers won by default from St Vincent Distillers Glamorgan.

This meant that Smashers won Group A. Vee Jay’s Roof top & Bar North Windward, French Verandah SVG Community College and Police One are the other qualifiers.

From Group B, are North Windward Combine, Bequia XI, Coreas Distribution Belfongo and Northern Stars.
