TASVG to host Relay Classic under lights

Team Athletics SVG has reset its annual Relay Classic.

Set for last Saturday, at the Sion Hill Playing Field, from 9:30 a.m., the Relay Classic was forced to be postponed for a number of reasons, according to Team Athletics SVG.

A release from the national track and field boby’s general secretary Alexandra Walrond on Friday, stated: “After much deliberation and taking into consideration the number of schools having their school heats and sports, we have to postpone the Relay Classic”.

The Relay Classic was subsequently advertised to take place on March 28, from 2 p.m. at the Victoria Park.

As such, the Relay Classic will be run into the evening, thus, it will, for the first time, be under lights.

But the change of date, venue and start time will not alter the format.

As planned, competition will be in the Under-9, Under-11, Under-13, Under-15, Under-17, Under-20 and 20 and Over.

Among the events carded, are the 4 x 50m, the 4 x 80m, the 4 x 100m, 4 x 400m, the Medley Relay and the Distance Medley.
