Vincentian lands USL pro contract
National midfielder Kyle Edwards has inked a professional contract with the Grande Valley Toros, in the United Soccer League(USL).
A student of the University of Texas, Edwards, in his last season, finished as the second ranked player in the Western Athletic Conference in goals scored, while leading the WAC in points and goals scored .
Edwards has the second most goals scored in a single season in the National Collegiate Athletics Association division one football programme’s history.
He also earned an All WAC first team honours; was named to the WAC all tournament team and to the All- Far West region first team.
Edwards has represented SVG at the Under-17, Under- 20 and seniors levels.
His last appearance was in August 2019, when he played for the senior team in a friendly international against Trinidad and Tobago at the Chili Playing Field.
Locally, Edwards has played for System Three and for Barrouallie league team in competitions put on by the SVG Football Federation.
