Cricket Association awards stand outs of local cricket competitions

Those cricketers who excelled above and beyond their counterparts in the various competitions organised by the St Vincent and the Grenadines Cricket Association Inc. in 2019 were acknowledged at the organisation’s awards ceremony held December 21, at the Arnos Vale Playing Field.

Best All Rounders

The best all rounder in the National Lotteries Authority Neil Williams T/20, was Victors One’s Atticus Browne, who scored 225 runs and took nine wickets.

Meanwhile, the NLA premier division’s best all rounder was FLOW Rivals’ Lindon James ( 218 runs and 17 wickets) and in the NLA first division, the recipient was MSDA Jules Anthony Northern Stars’ Shammon Hooper.

Hooper’s tally of runs was 367 and he added 20 wickets to the good.

In the women’s T/20 competition, copping the best all rounder accolade was United Survivors’ Shevorn Clarke, with 72 runs and eight wickets.

And, Juliana Nero of Super Strikers took the best all rounder award in the women’s 40 over competition. Nero registered 324 runs and captured five wickets.

Most Runs

Lindon James of FLOW Rivals scored the most runs in the T/20 showcase, as he amassed 363 runs.

Scoring the most runs in the NLA premier division was Police Two’s Desron Maloney- 377 and in the NLA first division, it was Northern Stars’ Shammon Hooper, who tallied 367.

On the women’s side, JG Tigress’ Jephrena Joseph’s 128 runs in the T/20 format was the most, while Juliana Nero had the most runs in the 40 over competition, as she made 324.

Most Wickets

The top wicket taker in the NLA T/20 was FLOW Rivals’ Deighton Butler with 16 wickets and in NLA premier division – Alston Bobb of Victors One, who scalped 33 wickets.

In the NLA first division, there was a two- way tie between Javid Harry of Smashers and Dean Browne of Keegan’s Bequia XI, who both took 22 wickets.

It was the third year that Harry had copped the most wickets award.

The top wicket takers in the women’s competition, were Sherma Wright of United Survivors in the T/20 and her team mate- Allison Antoine in the 40- over.

Wright collected eight wickets and Antoine- 17.

Team Awards

FLOW Rivals won the NLA premier division as well as the NLA Neil Williams T/20; Police Two took the national championships and MSDA Jules Anthony Northern Stars- the NLA first division.

United Survivors secured the SVGCA Inc’s 40 – over competition, with JG Tigress wining the T/20.
