Police, Future Legends reach North Leeward cricket semis

Defending champions of the Jules Anthony VINLEC North Leeward 20/20 cricket competition RSVG Police, and Robertson Surveyors Rose Hall Future Legends, are through to the semi-finals of this year’s edition.

The two advanced after quarter-final wins last Sunday at the Cumberland Playing Field.

RSVG Police had a 22-run win over Carlos James Starlight.

The lawmen scored 189 for 6 from their 20 overs. Benninton Stapleton hit 52 not out, Rickford Walker, 45 and Andrew Thomas, 29. Donald Delpesche captured 2 for 21.

Troumaca Starlight replied with 169 for 7 from their 20 overs. Elron Lewis scored 89 and Aleon Caesar, 24.

Kevin Abraham took 3 for 14, including a hat-trick and Sylvan Spencer had 2 for 33.

And, Future Legends outplayed Summerset by 142 runs. Dean Browne scored 101, Shem Browne, 44 and pushed Future Legends to 194 for 3 from their 20 overs.

Summerset’s reply ended at 52 all out. Rajiv Roberts took 4 for 13, Dean Browne, 4 for 21 and Marcus Castello, 2 for 6.

The next quarter-final matches take place this Sunday, when Ruddy’s Electrical take on Ajuba from 10 a.m and from 3 p.m., Rose Bank Big League face Peto Stars.
