Police Youth Club champs SVGCC invitational football title

The RSVG Police Youth club won the 2019 French Verandah National Lotteries SVG Community College Invitational football competition last Friday night at the Victoria Park, with a 3-1 win on penalties over Year Two Arts, Sciences and General Studies.

Daniel Patrick put the Police Youth Club ahead in the 16th minute, but Garret Leigertwood scored from the penalty spot in the 47th minute for Year Two Arts, Sciences and General Studies, to level the scores until the final whistle.

But the Police Youth Club team held their nerves better at the penalty kicks to come away winners.

The third place playoff was also decided by penalty kicks, in favour of Jebelle Youths, 4-3,  over Year One Arts, Sciences and General Studies.
Jebelle Youths took a two goal lead with strikes from Jammie Kiel and Kadeem Duncan.

However, Micah Glasgow and Andre Lavia brought parity for the Year One Arts, Science and General Studies outfit.

Awards

In the awards that followed, Daniel Patrick was the top goal scorer with six goals. Patrick also copped the MVP Of the Tournament award.

Ronaldo Matthews of Year Two Arts, Sciences and General Studies took the best defender award,, while the best midfielder accolade, went to Jammie Kiel of Jebelle Youths.

The best goal keeper was adjudged to be Arnel Horne of Year Two Arts, Sciences and General Studies,.

The MVP of the third place play off was Jammie Keil of Jebelle Youths and the MVP finals was presented to Aliska Samuel of RSVG Police Youth Club.
