Hard Hitters dent Outa Trouble in TBPO softball cricket
Defending champions of the National Lotteries Authority TBPO 20/20 softball cricket competition – Country Meet Town Outa Trouble, suffered a four-wicket loss to Hard Hitters last Saturday at the Dauphine Playing Field.
Outa Trouble made 85/8 from their 17 overs, as the match was reduced because of rain. Richie Richards led with 25 not out, Saski Weekes 22 and Davian Barnum 21.
For Hard Hitters, Sheldon Baptiste had 2/22.
Kerwin Williams stroked 25 and Saleme George – 20, as Hard Hitters responded with 92/6 from 15.4 overs.
Alwayne Quashie had 4 for 13, bowling for Outa Trouble.
Saturday’s first match had a no show by Gomea Bombers and Coreas Distribution.
Rained though caused Sunday’s points to be shared between One Team and Fairbaine United Spartans.
But Bruce Law Chambers Smashers outdid Dr Thomas Injectors by four wickets, as both teams battled in a 15 over affair, as a late start was because of rain.
Injectors – 62 all out in 14.4 overs, as Ronrick Peters took 2/5.
Smashers – 68/8 in 8.3 overs; Ruel Browne- 29.
Bowling for Injectors, Raffique Jobe had 3/16.
And, Gairy’s Construction Simple Boys outdid Fairbane United Spartans by 35 runs ,in a match reduced to 17 overs because of a late start.
Simple Boys batted first and made 136 for 8 in 17 overs; Nicos Davis 58 and Kemron John 37 Bowling for Spartans, Rokeem Roberts 4/ 20.
Maurice Cordice with 19, led Spartans’ unsuccessful reply of 101/ 8 from their 17 overs.
Eldon Morris had 2/ 11, Keneal Skinner 2/30, bowling for Simple Boys.
