Greiggs softball cricket competition reaches round of 16

Hard Hitters, Country Meet Town Outa Trouble and Bank of SVG All Stars, were all victors last weekend in the last set of matches in the preliminary round of the 2019 Caesar’s Real Estate, Hairoun Beer, FLOW, Nar Fren Dem Greiggs 20/20 softball cricket competition at the Greiggs Central Playing Field.

Hard Hitters on Saturday, beat Ninja Eleven by 45 runs, in a 17-over match.

Hard Hitters scored 134 for 9 from their 17 overs. Shawn Williams topscored with 34 not out and Erwin Williams, 33.

St. Clair Minors took 4 for 13 and Melvis Daniel, 2 for 28.

Ninja Eleven replied with 89 all out from 15.5 overs. Delanzo Lavia scored 37, while Trevin Baptiste took 2 for 11 and Kerwin Williams, 2 for 12.

Hard Hitters returned on Sunday to defeat Fairbaine United Spartans by seven wickets.

Fairbaine United Spartans batted first and made 83 for 8 in their 15 overs. Rockeem Roberts scored 21.

Trevin Baptiste took 3 for 8.

Hard Hitters replied with 85 for 3 in 4.5 overs. Erwin Williams scored 35, while Glenson Guy had 2 for 17.

Also on Sunday, Outa Trouble saw off Extreme Strikers by 161 runs.

Davian Barnum hit 112 and Saski Weekes, 67, as Outa Trouble made 250 for 3 from 15 overs.

Mroy James took 2 for 29 for Extreme Strikers, whose response was 89 for 5 from their 15 overs.

Leron Pope made 23. Jerando Jardine took 2 for 15 and Mickel Mapp, 2 for 28.

And All Stars outshone Belair Sunset Strikers by five wickets.

Belair Sunset Strikers batted first and made 75 all out in 12.3 overs, Ovando O’Brien scored 18.

Desmond Bramble took 3 for 10. Bank Of SVG All Starsreplied with 78 for 5 from 12.1 overs.

Godwin John made 17 not out, while Osbourne Franklyn took 2 for 18.
