SVGBF president hoping for fruitful networking

Elected as president of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Basketball Federation (SVGBF)  in July, Rohan Providence whetted his feet on the international circuit, by attending the FIBA congress in Beijing, China, recently.

Top, though, on Providence’s expectations, is the networking and relationships forged while in China.

Hence, the SVGBF president is hopeful that the connections made will be realised into tangible benefits for St Vincent and the Grenadines’ basketball.

According to Providence, “Several connections were made towards seeking to develop basketball here in St Vincent and the Grenadines”.

Providence revealed that he was able to hold discussions about future plans of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Basketball Federation for the next four years.

He noted that the plans will be crystalised when next the general body of the basketball fraternity meets in due course.

Providence said that apart from the prospects for St Vincent and the Grenadines, the congress was able to discuss the promotion of basketball, as well as the development of the member associations of FIBA.

The congress saw the election of Hemane Niang as president of FIBA and the induction of Alonzo Mourning to the FIBA Hall of Fame.
