RSVG Police win again in North Leeward 20/20 cricket


RSVG Police held up Ruddy’s Electrical by 89 runs last Saturday at the Cumberland Playing Field, in the lone match that was played in the Jules Anthony VINLEC North Leeward Super league 20/20competition.

The lawmen, on the back of 60 not out from Romano Grant, along with Rickford Walkers’ 37 and Marcus John’s 30, piled on 183 for 5 from their 20 overs.

Bowling for Ruddy’s Electrical, Kimson Dalzell picked off 2 for 36.

In reply, Ruddy’s Electrical packed in for 94, with Donwell Hector’s 27 being the best effort.

Rickford Walker snared 4 for 15 and Sylvan Spencer, 2 for 24, to be RSVG Police’s most successful bowlers.

Walker was named player of the match.

Saturday’s second match resulted in Rose Bank Big League, wining by default from Ajuba of Spring Village, who only had six players when the toss was called by the umpires.

Sunday’s matches were not played because of the adverse weather conditions associated with Tropical Storm Karen.

Three matches are carded for this weekend as the competition continues.

On Saturday, Peto Stars play Summerset from 10 a.m., to be followed by Rose Hall Future Legends against Troumaca Starlight from 2 p.m.

One match is fixtured for Sunday, when Summerset take on Coulls Hill Rangers.
