RSVG Police and Robertson Survey’s Future Legends registered wins on Saturday as the 2019 Jules Anthony Vinlec North Leeward 20/20 cricket competition got off to a start at the Cumberland Playing Field.

RSVG Police beat Coulls Hill Rangers by 125 runs.

Police scored 214 for 3 from their 17 overs. Anthonell Browne scored 55, Dion Bynoe, 48 and Benniton Stapleton, 35.

Delano King, with 2 for 14, was Coulls Hill Rangers’ most successful bowler.

In response, Coulls Hill Rangers scored 90 all out from 12.3 overs, with Romoni Mars scoring 48.

Bowling for RSVG Police, Darius Martin took 3 for 36 and Nigel Small, 2 for 20.

Also on Saturday, Rose Hall Legends outplayed Ajuba of Spring Village by 137 runs.

Future Legends, on the back of 66 from Miles Bascombe and 52 from Shem Browne, scored 196 for 8 from their 20 overs.

Romando Browne had 4 for 22 and Rickel Stapleton, 3 for 41, bowling for Ajuba.

But Ewaldo Stapleton took 4 for 16 and Marcus Castello had 4 for 20, as Ajuba caved in for 62 all out from 11.5 overs.

The next round of matches will be played on Sunday, September 15.
