Bequia United takes Bequia Premier League cricket title

Sugar Reef Bequia United beat Defenders by 30 runs on Sunday at the Clive Tannis Playing Field to take the 2019 Keegan’s Bequia Premier League.

Chelson Stowe cracked 10 sixes and 2 fours, Cosmus Hackshaw stroked 5 sixes and 4 fours in his 52 and Jenry Ollivierre lashed 5 fours and a pair of sixes in his 40 not out, to see Bequia United to 252/8 from their 20 overs.

Chelson Stowe was productive with both bat and ball for Bequia United

Sherlon Pompey took 3/61 and Phillip Baptiste 2/50, bowling for Defenders.

In response, Defenders made 222/8 from their 20 overs; Alroy Hoyte- 53 (5 fours and 4 sixes) and Kiton Lavia 34 ( 2 fours and 3 sixes).

Bowling for Bequia United, Jenry Ollivierre had 4/46 and Chelson Stowe 3/35.

In the third place which preceded the final, Southside United defeated Friendship United by 37 runs.

In the 17-over affair, Southside United scored 170/7 from their 17 overs; Kevin Samuel – 43 and Mc Lea Boucher – 36.

Courtney Ollivierre – 2/27 and Desbert Yorke – 2/28 .

From their 17 overs, Friendship United reached 133/8; Levan Stowe – 44 and Desbert Yorke- 32.

Kemron Cozier picked off 3/21 and Delroy Compton- 2/36, bowling for Southside United.

The presentation ceremony is set for this Sunday.
