North Central Windward wins zonal Under-15 cricket title

North Central Windward beat Central Kingstown by 102 runs on the Duckworth Lewis Method last Friday at the Arnos Vale Playing Field, to champ the 2019 Zonal Under-15 cricket title, organised by the St Vincent and the Grenadines Cricket Association Inc. 

Set a revised target of 210, after a rain interruption, Central Kingstown was dismissed for 108 in 31.5 overs.

Jaden Henry (20) was the top scorer with the bat, but extras had the healthiest contribution of 45.

Bowling for North Central Windward, Dexter Baynes took 2 for 5, Elvan Glasgow, 2 for 11 and Reynolly Hillocks, 2 for 17.

When North Central Windward batted, they amassed 241 for 8 from their 48 overs, as the allotment was reduced by two overs, because of rain.

Kodi Grant struck 94 not out, which included 9 fours and 4 sixes, as he helped stitch up his team’s innings, which once stood at 77 for 5.

Grant shared in a 75-run partnership with Reynolly Hillocks, who lashed 5 fours in his 29. Extras (56), was another aid to North Central Windward’s total.

Female player Jennillea Glasgow, had creamed off the top of North Central Windward’s batting taking 4 for 32. Kyle Ambris had 2 for 23.

It was a revenge for North Central Windward, who lost by 17 runs on Thursday at the hands of Central Kingstown, as Glasgow starred with both bat and ball.

She hit 54 and scalped 4 for 15.

From this competition, 24 players will be selected to train for the St Vincent and the Grenadines team for the 2019 Windwards Under-15 tournament, later this year.
