Marriaqua softball cricket final reset to Sunday

CGM Gallagher Novice and Hard Hitters will contest the final of the FLO/ Carib Beer Marriaqua 20/20 tournament from 2 p.m. this Sunday at the Richland Park Oval.

Originally slated for last Sunday at the same venue and time, organisers were forced to reschedule because of adverse weather conditions.

Novice and Hard Hitters got a shot at the title after both trumped their semi-final matches.

Novice ousted Gairy’s Construction Simple Boyz by six wickets.

Simple Boyz made 130 all out from their 20 overs. Jabarri Cunningham contributed 65.

Renrick Williams then stroked 55, as Novice reached 131 for 4 from 15 overs.

Then Hard Hitters defeated Sion Hill Tallawahs by seven wickets.

Sion Hill Tallawahs made 121 all out from 20 overs, to which Hard Hitters replied with 126 for 3 from 17 overs. Manley Duncan led with 61.

Before Sunday’s final, Simple Boyz and Sion Hill Tallawahs will clash from 11 a.m. in the third place play-off.
