Attackers Girls win back to back in NL softball cricket

Attackers Girls won back-to-back matches last Sunday at the Sharpes Playing Field in Chateaubelair, as the DMG Furniture Enterprises North Leeward Sports and Cultural Organisation’s women’s 10/10 softball cricket competition continued.

Attackers Girls first win came against WE FM Beachfront Girls.

Jennifer Charles struck 85, Sherrian Williams, 52 and Joann Francis, 34, to lead Attackers Girls to 206 for 4 from their 20 overs.

In reply, WE FM Beachfront Girls, were held to 105 for 7 from their 20 overs.  Sheril Ann Millington scalped 2 for 14 and Joann Francis, 2 for 23, as Attackers Girls won by 102 runs.

Then Attackers Girls turned up the pressure on Upsetters, winning by four wickets.

Upsetters posted 143 all out from 18.4 overs, with Klemesia Matthews scoring 54.

Bowling for Attcakers Girls, Sandra Samuel took 3 for 21.

In response, Attackers Girls reached 144 for 6. Sherrian Williams scored 71.

For Upsetters, Yolanda Granderson picked up 5 for 26.

When the weekend action bowled off on Saturday at the Fitz Hughes Playing Field, Ball Burners got past MSDA Golden Girls by seven wickets.

Golden Girls got to 135 all out from 16 overs. Donnell George hit 46 and Felicia Carter, 23.

Zavian Stephens was the pick of the Ball Burners’ bowlers, taking 4 for 8.

Shenezia Daniel then compiled 52 and Tonicisa Creese, 34 not out, as Ball Burners reached 134 for 3 from 14 overs.
