Johnson scores big in North Leeward women’s softball competition
Kacy Johnson slammed 134 not out, to lead Ball Burners’ total against Blue United, last Saturday in the DMG Furniture North Leeward Sports and Cultural Organisation’s women’s 20/20 competition at the Fitz Hughes Playing Field.
Johnson was part of a massive unbroken opening stand with Zavian Stephens, which saw Ball Burners making 249 without loss from their 20 overs. Stephens contributed 85 not out.
Blue United were dismissed for 107 from 14.1 overs. Natasha Sampson hit 30.
Bowling for Ball Burners, Shenezia Daniel grabbed 3 for 2 and Zavian Stephens, 2 for 22, to win by 142 runs.
And, WE FM Beachfront Girls defeated Dynamic Girls on a faster run rate after rain forced the abandonment of their match.
Dynamic Girls scored 140 for 8 from their 20 overs. Uriah Lett had 3 for 15 and Jasmine Harry took 3 for 30.
WE FM Beach Front Girls were 56 for 2 from 6.5 overs when the match ended prematurely.
The Par score after six overs was 42, hence WE FM Beachfront Girls won by 14 runs.
