SVGOC host successful Olympic Day activities

The St Vincent and the Grenadines Olympic Committee (SVGOC), on Saturday, June 22, at the Grammar School Playing Field, played its part in the observation of Olympic Day.

The SVGOC’s way of 6he commemoration, was the hosting of traditional games, as well as volleyball, rugby, road tennis, table tennis, tennis and the Kids In Athletics activities.

Following the sporting activities, the participants took to the streets of Kingstown, for the Olympic Walk/ Run.

While, the Grammar School Playing Field was a buzz of activity, the (IOC) was hosting its 125th anniversary involving its 206 members in Olympic City of Lausanne, Switzerland.

Among the events to mark the day, the IOC added its historical feature, with the official opening of the organisation’s new Olympic House – headquarters.

The new Olympic House is regarded as the world’s most sustainable edifice.
