SVG senior Squash players prep for CASA

St Vincent and the Grenadines senior Squash players from June 4-7, traded their skills at the National Squash Centre, Paul’s Avenue, as they jostle for places at this year’s hosting of the senior Caribbean Area Squash Association (CASA) championships in Guyana in August.

After the four days of on-court action, Amber Glasgow, Paul Cyrus and Jason Doyle were the three champions.

Amber Glasgow played unbeaten to win the females singles. In her square off against Sherian Slater in the final, Glasgow trumped 7-11, 11-4, 11-3, 11-8.

Cyrus outdid Colin Alexander 11-6, 9-11, 11-5, 11- 9, to win the men’s veterans title.

And, Doyle and Jules Snagg lit up the court in a fitting end on Friday night.

Doyle prevailed over Snagg 3-11, 9-11, 11-7, 11-7, while Keith Boyea took the bronze in the men’s veterans and Othniel Bailey, the third place in the men’s singles.

St Vincent and the Grenadines will go it alone in the championships, set for August 19-23.

Host Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, the British Virgin Islands, Jamaica, Bermuda, and the Cayman Islands, are the other countries listed to attend the senior CASA championships.
