Marriaqua Softball cricket competition rolling smoothly
The Carib Beer FLOW Marriaqua softball cricket competition, hosted four matches last weekend at the Richland Park Oval.
However, the weekend got off to a bad start, as TK Auto Body Repair Challengers got easy points from Moznet Strikers in Saturday’s first scheduled match.
But Gairy’s Construction Simple Boyz made up for the lull, by blasting 210 versus Sopranos.
Kentish Phillips led with 51, while Dennis James took 3 for 16, bowling for Sopranos.
Asbert Franklyn snared 4 for 8, as Sopranos were silenced for 59 in 14.1 overs.
On Sunday, RSVG Police and Bank of SVG All Starz were triumphant over Extreme Strikers and Country Meet Town Outa Trouble Two, respectively.
Extreme Strikers, on the back of 36 from Noland Durrant, scored 145 for 6 from their 20 overs.
But, Gerald Gould, with 82 not out, guided RSVG Police to 147 for 2, winning by eight wickets.
And, Bank Of SVG All Starz won by 11 runs.
Batting first, All Starz posted 139 for 4 from their allotment of 20 overs. Keyon Bayer topscored with 62.
Outa Trouble Two’s response was 128 for 9 from their 20 overs. Carlton Woodley struck 47.
Another set of matches will take place this weekend.
