NLA First Division cricket semis showdown this Sunday

Keegan’s Bequia XI will face North Leeward at Arnos Vale Two, and at the Sion Hill Playing Field, Police One will battle Smashers, as the semi-finals showdown in the National Lotteries Authority first division takes place from 10 a.m. this Sunday.

Police One became the last team to make it to the last four, following their five-wicket win over Ruddy’s Electrical Unique Warriors last Sunday, at Arnos Vale Two.

Unique Warriors, after being invited to bat first by Police One, posted 245 all out from 44.1 overs. Leon Samuel hit 63, and 32 each from Michael Joseph and Roger Davis.

Bowling for Police One, Elmore Alexander had figures of 3 for 53 and Gerald Gould, 2 for 28.

A 170-run third-wicket partnership between Gosnel Cupid and Parnell Browne, was the fulcrum of Police One’s response.

Browne led with 89 and Cupid scored 86. Both creamed 6 fours and 3 sixes, as Police One reached 249 for 5 from 34. 2 overs.

In between Police One’s comfortable win, Ansil Hooper took 2 for 51 and Leon Samuel, 2 for 65.
