RSVG Police win again in Barrouallie softball competition

DEFENDING CHAMPIONS of the National Lotteries Authority Barrouallie 20/20 softball cricket competition RSVG Police, added another tick to the wins column in the 2019 edition, beating Spring Village by 15 runs, last Saturday at the Keartons Playing Field.

The lawmen made 97 for 8 from their 20 overs. Ronaldo Franklyn was the pick of Spring Village’s bowling, taking 4 for 17.

However, Spring Village batsmen were cordoned off by the bowling of RSVG Police, and could only reach 82 for 3 from their 20 overs. Akeil Mason topscored with 22.

Also on Saturday, Buccament

Bay Warriors registered a 29-runs win over Barrouallie Secondary School Warriors.

Buccament Bay Warriors posted 108 all out from 18.4 overs. Renford Quashie led with 26.

Bowling for the students, Mikhail Williams had 3 for 5 and Garvin Davis, 2 for 5.

But Marcus Mc Coy with 4 for 9 and Brent Saunders, 2 for 9, helped dismissed Barrouallie Secondary School Warriors for 79. Kirk Hamlett, with 21, was the topscorer.

On Sunday, Questelles Police Youth Club saw off Black Sands Resort by 26 runs, in a 16-over per side affair.

Atnell Ash stroked 32, to lead the Police Youth Club to 95 for 5 from their 16 overs.

Sarge Hooper was the most successful bowler for Black Sands Resort, taking 2 for 8.

In reply, Black Sand Resorts made 69 all out. Cleus Cato scored 28, while Carl Thomas scalped 2 for 12, bowling for Questelles Police Youth Club.

In Sunday’s other scheduled match, Hillview won from Smashers by default.
