New SVGS, GHS inter-house track and field champions crowned

Two new champions were crowned when the St. Vincent Grammar School (SVGS) and the Girls’ High School (GHS) jointly held the General Employees Co-operative Credit Union (GECCU) athletics meet at the Arnos Vale Playing Field last Wednesday.

Lopey House, with 1037 points, dethroned last year’s champion Reeves House en route to the Grammar School title. Second was Crick House, with 858 points. Millar House was third with 832 points and Reeves, fourth, with 786 points.

Meanwhile, Headmistress House is the new winner of the Girls’ High School’s championships.

Headmistress, with 1113 points, also dethroned the 2018 champion, Moffett House.

But Moffett just dropped one place down, to second, with 1097 points.  Staff House was third with 1056 points and Grimble House, fourth, compiling 991 points.

Keos Davis of Millar House, with 44 points, was the junior champion in the Grammar School championships. Verrol Sam of the Reeves House was the Intermediate champion.

Sam tallied 51 points.

And Handal Roban of Lopey House, with 61 points, was the senior champion. Roban was also the Victor Ludorum.

In the Girls’ High School’s championships, Jodisha Samuel of Headmistress House, with 44 points, was the junior champion. The intermediate champion was Latavia Daly with 53 points. Daly, represented Headmistress House.

Brianna Nash of Moffett House, with 56 points, was the senior champion and the Victrix Ludorum.
