Zefal Bailey takes race number two

Zefal Bailey made it two straight wins, when the 2019 road racing calendar of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Cycling Union continued last Sunday, by taking the 65-mile event.

He won in 3 hours 19 minutes 52.56 seconds, beating second place Sherwin James by over a half an hour.

James’ time was 3 hours 50 minutes 56.17 seconds.

The other cyclists who reached the end line at the Sion Hill Intersection was Venezuelan Carlos Rebes.

His third place finish, saw him clocking 4 hours 10 minutes 53.20 seconds.

The 65-mile road race saw six cyclists facing the starter’s orders, but only Bailey, James and Rebes completed the distance.

The race began at the SVG Automotive Gas Station at Bentick Square, and headed to Langley Park in Georgetown.

A return journey to the Arnos Vale Round About was followed by two laps from there to Diamond, before finishing at the Sion Hill Intersection.
