Chapmans take U-17… All Stars win community shield

CHAPMANSWON THE U-17 division and All Stars took the community shield knock out title of the Hairon / National Lotteries Authority North East football league, last Sunday at the Chili Playing Field in Georgetown.

UNBEATEN ALL STARS – winners of the community shield knock out title

A commanding 5-0 win over Greiggs, handed Chapmans their top place.

A brace from the prolific Kadeem Duncan and one each from Iruel Matthews, Jahvar Audain and Saidedo Dabreo, tallied Chapmans’ goals.

Chapmans reached the final by beating SV United 3-0, with Kadeem Duncan, Terrison Joseph and Duvano Sutton, the scorers.

Greiggs, on the other hand, had a 3-1 win over Owia United, in their semi-final match up. Oasie Deplesche scored all three goals for Greiggs. Jwan Williams netted for Owia United.

Owia United went on to take the third place, dumping SV United 3-0. Sydbert Kydd, Denelson Nero and Terraneo Lavia, were the goal scorers.

Community Shield final

All Stars produced a workmanlike effort to take the Community Shield knock out title, under the lights at the Chili venue last Sunday.

Two goals from Dwayne Cupid and Derron Rouse, one, accounted for All Stars’ three goals, who won 3-2. For Greiggs, Dan Laborde and Yekeme Miller, were the goal scorers.

All Stars overcame Sparta 5 – 3 on penalties after a 0 – 0 scoreline at end of regulation time in the semi-finals, en route to Sunday’s final.

It was a similar mode for Greiggs, who also won 5-3 on penalties, against Brownstown in the other semi-final.

The match was level 3-3 in regulation time. Valdo Anderson, Orande James and Yekerie Miller scored Greggs while Kareem Duncan hit a hat-trick for Brownstown.

Yet to be decided are the winners of the premier and first divisions.

The league is set for completion on Sunday, January 13.
