The 2018 Digicel/ St Vincent Brewery/ Breakaway masters firms invitational football tournament, climaxed at the Grammar School Playing Field, last Saturday, with the staging of the senior league final and third place play-off.

Securing the last title that was at stake was R & R Construction Transport, who had prevented CWSA from becoming double-crown champions.

Keandra Findlay, Zenroy Lee and Wilran Joseph, were the goal-scorers, as Transport won three- nil.

CWSA – senior knock out champions

Just prior to the league final, the battle for the third spot took place, featuring the two losing semi-finalists ED Laynes’ and VINLEC.

After a 1-1 draw in regulation time, both teams had to take to the penalty spot to decide the winner.

VINLEC prevailed in sudden death penalty kicks, as the two were still level 4-4, following the first set of five kicks.

The other league winners were Je Belle – the Agriculture Input Warehouse Under-16 champions; System Three – the SVGFF Under-19 division champions and K and R Strikers – the SVGFF women’s division title holders.

The Under-19 and women’s divisions were new additions to this year’s tournament.

Meanwhile, winners in the knock-out were CWSA – senior division, System Three One – Under-16; Volcanoes – Under-19 and System Three took the women’s division.
