SVGFF plans events to commemorate ‘the month of female football’

The St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation has deemed December “the month of female football,” and as such has planned several events to encourage girls and women to become involved, and to highlight the efforts and accomplishments of those involved in female football.

Female club exhibition games will be held at Victoria Park on the Wednesday evenings of December 5 and December 12. On December 5, games will start at 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The games on December 12 will start at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

On December 8, the SVGFF and One Caribbean Airline will sponsor a female school football festival, to commence at 9 a.m. at Victoria Park. The festival will include girls from 14 secondary schools in 7v7 competition, and other fun activities will be held throughout the day.

A female football fun day will be held at 9 a.m. on December 15 at Victoria Park. This will be a fun day for all girls, and it will be a showcase for the six women’s club teams on the island. There will be a small sided competition and different challenges and activities throughout the day. The event is sponsored by the SVGFF, Saint Vincent Brewery, and First Caribbean International Bank.
