All Stars reach Greiggs softball semis

Bank of SVG All Stars have advanced to the semi-finals of the Hairoun/ FLOW/Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem’s Greiggs men’s 20/20 softball cricket competition at the Greiggs Central Playing Field.

A seven-wicket triumph over Clinchers put All Stars in the last four.

Clinchers were dismissed for 45 in 16.3 overs. Glenroy Dasent took 3 for 4, Kelique Samuel, 3 for 10 and Kelly Murray, 2 for 19, bowling for All Stars.

In reply, All Stars got to 46 for 3 in 8.1 overs. Okeiph Andrews grabbed 2 for 13.

Whilst All Stars have reached the semi-finals, defending champions Sion Hill Tallawahs inched closer to retaining their title, by ousting LOG Enterprise Supreme Strikers by 39 runs, also on Sunday.

Erwin Williams slammed 93 not out, to power Sion Hill Tallawahs to 145 for 3 from 15 overs, as the match was reduced because of a late start.

Supreme Strikers’ response ended at 106 for 9 from their 15 overs.

Augustus Ballantyne made 24, while Teroy Roberts scalped 3 for 11.

Erwin Williams followed up his batting, by taking 2 for 23 and Shamic Roberts, 2 for 27, which ensured Sion Hill Tallawahs’ stay in the hunt to retain the title.

And, former winners Owia Young Strikers ousted Hard Hitters by one run in a 15-over-per-side match, to also reach the quarter-finals.

 Owia Young Strikers, batting first, packed in at 71 all out from 14.4 overs, with Zancel Baptiste scoring 20.

 Omarie Sutherland took 3 for 7, Kerwin Williams, 2 for 3 and Sheldon Baptiste, 2 for 18, and were Hard Hitters’ most successful bowlers.

Hard Hitters replied with 70 for 8 from their 15 overs. Junan Baptiste led in a losing cause with 25 not out.

Hard Hitters’ batting was undone by Allison Lavia, who took 5 for 10, while Kurton Lavia had 2 for 15 .
