Three win in Greiggs softball round of sixteen


Three matches in the Hairoun Brewery/ FLOW/ Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem Greiggs 20/20 men’s competition, saw action last weekend at the Greiggs Central Playing Field, as the round of 16 continued
On Saturday, Clinchers beat home team Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem by 67 runs.

Clinchers posted 150 for 5 from their 17 overs, as a late start reduced the number of overs.

Okeiph Andrews topscored with 67. while Rod Collins took 2 for 24.

  Nar Fren Dem responded with 83 for 8 from their 20 overs. Kenford Collins hit 58.

Chris Humphrey took 3 for no run, Donaldson Harry had 2 for 6 and Okeiph Andrews, 2 for 9.

Another late start resulted in Saturday’s second match reduced to 15 overs per side.

Hard Hitters plundered Rasfarco’s bowling to rush to 165 for 6 from their 15 overs. Dillon Douglas slammed 48.

Bowling for Rasfarco, Zionai Smart took 5 for 32.

Dillon Douglas then snapped up 2 for 11, as Rasfarco could only reach 40 for 4 from their 15 overs.

Hard Hitters won by 125 runs.

In Sunday’s lone match which had on field activity, Country Meet Town Outa Trouble powered past Dr Thomas Injectors by 71 runs.

Outa Trouble scored 134 for 9 from their 20 overs, with Mickel Mapp leading with 28.

Wendell Corridon was the pick of Injectors’ bowling, taking 4 for 31, while Kesron Ashton had 3 for 10 and Roneke James, 3 for 29.

 Injectors in response were bundled out for 63 in 14.2 overs, with Wendell Corridon scoring 20.

 For Outa Trouble, Kenron Williams took 2 for 6, Deroy Straugh, 2 for 9 and Richie Richards, 2 for 12.  

Sunday’s other two fixtures, which should have brought together Log Enterprises Supreme Strikers versus Sion Hill Tallawahs and CGM Gallagher Novice against Street Fighters, were rained out and will be rescheduled by organisers.
