United Survivors slip again in Greiggs women’s 10/10

DEFENDING CHAMPIONS of the Hairoun/ FLOW/ Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem Greiggs women’s 10/10 softball cricket competition United Survivors, lost their second match of this year’s edition, last Saturday at the Greiggs Central Playing Field. Facing Ball Burners, United Survivors lost by 46 runs.

Edlyn Turtin led Ball Burners’ total of 90 for 7 from their 10 overs, making 33.

Bowling for United Survivors. Shema Wright took 2 for 6, Veron Edwards, 2 for 25 and Samantha Lynch, 2 for 26.

In reply, United Survivors were hemmed in for 44 for the loss of three wickets, from their 10 overs, with Cordel Jack scoring 21 not out.

Meanwhile, in the men’s 20/20 segment, Clinchers, Dr Thomas Injectors, LOG Enterprise Supreme Strikers and Hard Hitters, were the victories teams.

Clinchers had a win via the default route from Just For the Fun on Sunday.

Dr Thomas Injectors then saw off Rasfarco by 97 runs in Sunday’s first match. Injectors batting first made 149 for 7 from their 17 overs, as the match was reduced because of a late start.

Desroy Lavia top scored with 36 not and Tex Franklyn hit 30. Bowling for Rasfarco, Levan Matthews snared 3 for 24.

Rasfarco was then bundled out for 52 in 10.2 overs. Kimron Baptiste scorec 22. For Injectors, Roneke James took 4 for 8, Desroy Lavia, 2 for 1 and Kesron Ashton, 2 for 8. Supreme Strikers then joined the winner’s column, by recording a five-wicket win over Bank of SVG All Starz.

Kelly Murray topscored with 28, as All Starz fell for 72 in 11.3 overs.

Shian Pope, who took 4 for 17 and Glenroy James, 2 for 8, were Supreme Strikers’ most successful bowlers.

The Supreme Strikers’ batsmen needed 9.4 overs, to reach 75 for 5. Kevin Johnson made 25. Kelique Samuel took 2 for 11, bowling for All Starz.

And, Hard Hitters got over Country Meet Town Outa Trouble by 8 runs.

Hard Hitters scored 113 all out from 15.1 overs, with Manley Duncan scoring 37.

Asif Hooper grabbed 3 for 5 and Richie Richards, 2 for 7, for Outa Trouble.

But despite Richie Richards’ 43, Outa Trouble’s response stopped at 105 for 8 from their 20 overs.

The pick of Hard Hitters’ bowlers were Omarie Sutherland, who took 2 for 17 and Erwin Williams, 2 for 22.
