Century makers in NL cricket competition quickly compensated

The two century makers in last weekend’s VINLEC North Leeward 20/20 cricket competition, were instantly rewarded for the feats. Chrisroy John and Hyron Shallow were awarded $100 each, when they scored 111 not out and 105 not out, respectively, for Ajuba of Spring Village versus Ruddy’s Electrical.

John’s knock was composed of 9 fours and 7 sixes, in his 65 ball innings, while Shallow made his ton from 58 balls, which contained 14 fours and 4 sixes.

The two shared an unbroken stand, to see Ajuba to 235 without loss from their 20 overs.

Presenting century-makers with cash prizes immediately after achieving their milestone, is a new undertaking of the cricket committee of the North Leeward Sports Association.

John and Shallow, joined RSVG Police’s Desron Maloney, who got the 2018 edition going with a century.

Previously, recipients had to wait until the hosting of the North Leeward Sports Association’s awards and presentation ceremony.
