FLOW comes to aid of Arnos Vale Invitational Basketball tournament

Bequia United won the first Arnos Vale Basketball Invitational Tournament after handing Arnos Vale Heat Seekers One their first defeat of the competition.

The Grenadine outfit completed a 15-point routing of Heat Seekers One, whose winning streak ended at 12 games, with a 70-65 scoreline.

Darreo Glasgow and Philbert Prescod scored 23 and 22 points, respectively, for Heat Seekers One, but couldn’t achieve victory. Keithroy Lavia had 14 points for Bequia.

And in the third place play-off, Police arrested the challenge of Calliaqua 55-49.

Speaking to committee member or the Arnos Vale Basket Ball Club, Dr. Junior Ackie, expressed his gratitude to telecommunications company Flow, who according to him, assisted greatly in the resurrection of the Basketball championship. Ackie stated that there was a great need to revive the sport, and further highlighted that the games which saw the participation of 11 teams overall, were well received by sport fanatics.

The Arnos Vale Basketball Invitational Tournament comes after a five-year absence.
