Year Two DSAGS Pacers reach SVGCC basketball final

Year Two Division of Science, Arts and General Studies (DSAGS) Pacers have made it through to this Thursday’s final of the Quickcash Corp St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College’s (SVGCC) Inter-divisional Basketball Championships.

 Pacers notched up their fourth successive win last Friday, downing BlueChip Basketball Academy 63-16.

Kirsta Bailey, with 21 points, Kristy Bailey,19 and Oscar Hutchinson, 16, all made handy contributions in Pacers’ uncomplicated triumph and secured their fourth straight win.

 After a 43-39 defeat of defending champions Year One Shooters in their opening fixtures, Pacers then stopped Just Graduated 45-33 and swept aside Division of Technical and Vocational Education Hornets 68-28.

 Pacers’ likely opponent in the final will be the defending champions, Year One DASGS Shooters, who kept their hopes alive last Friday with an impressive 57-20 win over Year One Hornets. Lemus Christopher dominated the backboards with 23 points for the Shooters.

 Shooters’ loss to the Pacers was followed by victories over Year Two Ballers 74-14, as well as a 39-24 defeat on Just Graduated. 

The last preliminary matches are set for today at the competition’s venue – the Villa campus court and will pit Year Two DASGS Pacers against Year Two Ballers; Year One Hornets meet Just Graduated Combined, with Year One Shooters against BlueChip Academy ending the proceedings.

 Following Thursday’s final, there will be a presentation ceremony.
