SVGVA puts down sport court at Villa campus

The St Vincent and the Grenadines Volleyball Association (SVGVA) has partnered with the St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College (SVGCC) to erect a sport court at the Villa campus.

This was realized last Saturday, when the tiles were fitted together on the existing hard court.

The installation of the sport court comes in time for the start of the 2018 schools’ volleyball competition, which serves off later this week.

Vice-president of the SVGVA Jomadean May told SEARCHLIGHT that the new sport court allows the volleyball association to take the sport to the students of the college and helps in their intent to spread volleyball.

May revealed that the erection of the sport court at the Villa campus also gives the players of the schools’ competition ready-made spectators.

He noted that the SVGVA had the excess tiles and putting them to good use is all for the good.

Meanwhile, physical education lecturer at the SVGCC Roxell John welcomed the sport court, as he feels, like May, that it will draw students at the college to volleyball.

This latest sport court is the third to be erected by the SVGVA. The other two are at the Girls’ High School and at the Gomea Methodist School hard court facilities.(RT)
