TBPO to introduce two more competitions
The Top Belair Progressive Organization (TBPO), the host of the longest sustained softball cricket competition, will add two more competitions to its slate early this year.
This was revealed by Ashford Wood at the closing ceremony of the 2017 National Lotteries Authority sponsored softball competition and Wood disclosed that a football competition and a softball competition for women are on the cards.
Wood said that the Dauphine Playing Field will also be the venue for the additional competitions.
He noted that the two additions will precede the well-established softball competition.
Wood assured that the softball competition will start early.
His insistence of an early start was a result of the late commencement of the 2017 edition in September, which ended in mid-December.
Wood also confirmed that the pairs dominoes competition will once again run concurrently with the menâs 20/20 softball competition.
The 2017 winners of the dominoes competition were Cephas Bowens and Lloyd John.
Also remaining on the agenda for 2018, is the knockout format, among the registered softball units on the opening of day of the competition.
The knockout is sponsored by Colin John and friends, with John giving the assurance that they would once again be the sponsors.(RT)
