The Barrouallie Government, Barrouallie Secondary and Georgetown Secondary schools won the schools’ football titles that were at stake last Thursday at the Victoria Park.

Barrouallie Government School defeated Lowmans Leeward Anglican two-nil to clinch the primary schools’ title.

A goal each from Zebian Cunningham and Lerence Benjamin ensured that the title went to the Barrouallie institution.

Then the Barrouallie Secondary, on the back of strikes from Kamal Griffith, Jahiem Charles, Koby Maingot and Kamal Griffith, outscored the Bethel High School, 4-2.

Bethel High School’s pair of goals came from the boot of D’Nelson Lewis.

The win by Barrouallie Secondary made it a three straight lien on the junior title.

And, the Georgetown Secondary returned to the top of the senior division pile, after being dethroned last year.

Coming up against a stubborn St Martin’s Secondary, the more robust and fast paced Georgetown Secondary outfit was met by a plucky opponent.

The two played to a 1-1 tie in regulation time, which sent the match into extra time.

However, Georgetown Secondary had more energy left in the tank, and nicked two goals in the additional period, to trump 3-1.

Player of the Final Trezine Da Souza found the back of the net twice and Brandon Johnson scored the other.

St Martin’s response had come from Aaron Collis.

 Third places

The CW Prescod Primary claimed the third place in the primary schools division, defeating Chateaubelair Methodist 4-1, as the two losing semi-finalists squared off for the consolation spot.

In the junior division of the secondary category, Thomas Saunders beat Petit Bordel Secondary, 2-1, to finish behind the Barrouallie Secondary and the Bethel High School.

And, in the senior division, a 4-3 win at the expense of the Petit Bordel Secondary, handed the Bethel High School the third place.(RT)
