Breakaway Masters Football Tournament adding two divisions

There will be two new divisions, come the eighth edition of the Breakaway Masters Organization Firms’ Invitational Football Tournament in 2018.

Set to be introduced are a Women’s Division and an Under-19 Division.

President of the Breakaway Masters Organization Leopold Dopwell announced the proposed addition at last Sunday’s closing ceremony for the 2017 tournament.

Dopwell said that his organization wanted to fill the void left after players were ineligible to be part of the Under-16 set-up.

Hence, some were recipients of their last awards of the Agriculture Input Warehouse sponsored Under-16 division.

Central Shooters’ Silas Kirby was the division’s player t.

Copping the youngest player award was Aidon Solomon of System Three Two.

Also rewarded was the female player of the tournament, which went to Volcanoes’ Sonja Mc Kie and D’ Nelson Lewis of Volcanoes was the top goalscorer for her 12 goals.

There were three awards for goalkeepers, which went to Carl Ragguette, Jahfari Samuel and Neil James.

Ragguette of Central Shooters was named the most outstanding goalkeeper, Samuel, the most promising goalkeeper and James, the most improved.

System Three Two won the most disciplined team award in the Under-16 Division.

The awards were made possible thanks to donations from Louisa James, Dispatch of the St Vincent Electrical Services, Roland Laidlow, Rosemary Dopwell, Stanley Hinds, Standard Caribbean Shippers, JG and Sons, Model Printery, Snuffy Auto Repair Shop and Jenny’s Catering Services.
