Year One ASGS take SVGCC Inter-divisional netball title again

Year One Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies, last Friday afternoon, retained the Eastern Caribbean Group of Companies SVG Community College Inter-divisional Netball Competition. 

To achieve this, they had to overcome their Year Two counterparts, Year Two Arts, Sciences and General Studies, 26 – 22, in a competitive final, held at the Villa campus court.

Year One Arts, Sciences and General Studies trailed 3-5 at the end of the first quarter, but at the end of the second quarter, were in the ascendancy at 13-11.

 It was 19-16 in favour of Year One Arts, Science and General Studies at the third quarter whistle, before closing off the showdown at 26-22.

Preceding the final, the Division of Teacher Education won the third place play-off, edging out the Division of Technical and Vocational Division 16-15.

 The awards ceremony that followed saw Calisha Velox of Year One Arts, Sciences and General Studies receiving the Best Shooter award, with her team-mate Nerissa Delepeche, the Player of the Final.

 Akira Samuel of the Division of Teacher Education, for the second year in a row, was adjudged the Best Defensive Player and the Overall Most Valuable Player. 

Macey De Shong, who represented losing finalists Year Two Arts, Science and General Studies, was named, for the second year in succession, the Best Mid-court Player.
