TASVG holds Pre-Chatoyer event at ET Joshua Airport

Team Athletics SVG on Sunday last, hosted a Pre-Chatoyer 10K event, utilizing the airstrip of the decommissioned ET Joshua Airport at Arnos Vale.

 Making use of the facilities, there were races for Under-14s, Under-17s, Under-19s and 20-and-over.

 Winning the Under-14 Girls 1,000 metres was Ashanti Richards of the Central Leeward Secondary, in 7 minutes 18.54 seconds. Central Leeward Secondary also claimed the second and third places in Marlene Richards and Monell Gordon, respectively.

 Andre Baptiste of the Central Leeward Secondary was the winner of the Under-14 Boys 1,000 metres, in a time of 7 minutes 4.31 seconds.

 Second was Omar Baptiste of the St Martin’s Secondary and third was Romaul James of Central Leeward Secondary.

 Central Leeward Secondary was also in winner’s row in the Under-17 Females 3,000 metres, as Zita Vincent was first in 25 minutes 09.53 seconds.

 Handel Roban of X-Cel Sports Club won the Under-17 Boys 3,000 metres in a time of 21 minutes 47.97 seconds.

 The Under-19 Women’s 5,000 metres was won by IT-DAT Academy’s Tamara Woodley in 46 minutes 39.23 seconds and the 20-and-over Women’s category was taken by Linda Mc Dowall of IT-DAT Academy in 37 minutes 25.57 seconds.

IT-DAT Academy’s Ryan John was first in the Under-19 Men’s 5,000 metres, taking that event in 36 minutes 08.85 seconds.

 And, X-Cel Sports Club’s Junior Ashton, in 32 minutes 13.38 seconds, took the Men’s 20 and over 5,000 metres.

 Sunday’s event was a precursor to the NACAC Chatoyer Endurance 10k, set for this Sunday, November 24,  from Gordon Yard to the Chateaubelair Playing Field in North Leeward.
