Smashers, Sion Hill Tallawahs to contest Greiggs Softball final
Bruce Law Chambers Smashers Inc and Sion Hill Tallawahs will contest the final of the Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem Greiggs 20/20 Softball Cricket Competition.
This, after they had comfortable wins last Sunday, over their semi-final opponents at the Greiggs Central Playing Field.
Smashers ousted Country Meet Town Outa Trouble Family by 57 runs in the first semi-final.
Smashers scored 148 for 9 from their 20 overs. Zyron Harry top scored with 44.
Bowling for Outa Trouble Family, Davian Barnum took 3 for 35.
Outa Trouble Familyâs batting did not measure up, as they were dismissed for 91 in 17 overs.
Javid Harry lashed 44, while Glendon James bagged 4 for 9, bowling for Smashers.
In joining Smashers in the final, Sion Hill Tallawahs repelled Street Fighters by five wickets.
Street Fighters packed it in at 95 all out in 18.3 overs, undone by the bowling of Shamic Roberts, who snared 4 for 9.
Kerwin Williams then stroked 30 not out, as Sion Hill Tallawahs got to 95 for 5 from 13.3 overs, and a shot at being crowned the 2017 champions.
Before Sundayâs semi-finals, the last of the quarter-finals was decided on Saturday.
Facing Gairyâs Construction Simple Boyz, Outa Trouble Family, posted 116 all out from 16.1 overs. Davian Barnum was the lead batsman, making 56.
Jabari Cunningham was Simple Boyzâ best bowler, taking 3 for 8.
Simple Boyz were limited to 90 for 9 from their 17 overs, as Outa Trouble Family trumped by 26 runs.
