Teams better positions in TBPO softball cricket

Recording wins last weekend in the National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Progressive Organisation – TBPO 20/20 softball cricket competition at the Dauphine Playing Field, were Dipcon Road Warriors, Challengers, CGM Gallagher Novice, Dr Thomas Injectors and Gomea Bombers.

  On Saturday, Road Warriors won by 57 runs over Challengers.

 Warriors got up to 144 for 8 from their 20 overs. Lawson Mason struck 32 and Jamal Williams, 28 not out. Bowling for Challengers, Kimron John took 2 for 32.

  Challengers could not cope with the bowling of Jamal Williams, 4 for 15, Damon Mason, 2 for 8 and Chester Kiel, 2 for 30, as they were dismissed for 87 in 15.1 overs

 Challengers rebounded to defeat Nice Radio Clinchers by six wickets.

 Clinchers batted first and made 93 for 8 from 17 overs, reduced because of a late start. Roger Gibson led with 21.

 Collecting the wickets for Challengers were Javon Seales, 3 for 16, Kerwyn Browne, 2 for 17 and Tishma Davis 2 for 19.

 Challengers responded with 94 for 4 from 16. 4 overs. Javon Seales scored 46 not out. Peter Richards picked up 2 for 18 and Rajiv Roberts had 2 for 25.

 Then on Sunday, Novice had an eight -wicket win over Just For the Fun.

 From 17. 3 overs, Just For the Fun made 79 all out. Delworth Thomas topscored with 23.

 Bowling for Novice, Vernardo Primus took 3 for 11 and Everton Durrant had 2 for 20.

 Novice, then posted 82 for 2 from 9.3 overs, as Casmond Walters stroked 44 and Renrick Williams, 23.

 Also, Dr Thomas Injectors, easily beat Carib Top Shotters by eight wickets, in a match reduced to 12 overs, because of a late start.

 Top Shotters were restricted to 39 for 5 from their 12 overs. Gregory Richards scored 20 not out. Kezron Ashton grabbed 3 for 6, bowling for Dr Thomas Injectors.

 In response, Injectors rushed to 40 for 2 in just 2 overs. 

And, Gomea Bombers won by default from Country Meet Town Outa Trouble Family, who did not show up for the fixture.
