Roberts revels with century in TBPO softball cricket

Shamic Roberts took 47 balls to blast 137, thereby powering his team Sion Hill Tallawahs to 257 for 3 from 15 overs, last Saturday in the NLA Top Belair Progressive Organization (TBPO), at the Dauphine Playing Field.

Roberts’ innings contained 17 sixes and 5 fours, while Teroy Roberts’ 45 not out and Erwin Williams’ 41 added to Sion Hill Tallawahs heavy scoring.

Sion Hill Tallawahs bowlers, Shawn Williams who took 3 for 7, Daxford Lavia, 3 for 9 and Marlon Baptiste, wrecked Carib Top Shotters for 46 in 10.2 overs.

Sion Hill Tallawahs won by 211 runs.

Also on Saturday, Just for Fun won over Stingers by 44 runs.

Batting first, Just for Fun scored 122 for 7 in their 20 overs. Veno Da Souza hit 38, Othniel Lewis, 22 and Jason Jackson, 20.

In reply, Stingers reached 78 for 9 in their 20 overs, with Kenneal Skinner scoring 18.

Junius London grabbed 3 for 5, Othniel Lewis, 2 for 13 and Roger François, 2 for15, bowling for Just For Fun.

Meanwhile, rain reduced Sunday’s first match to 10 overs between Nice Radio Clinchers and Dr Thomas Injectors.

Clinchers posted 128 for 4 from their 10 overs. Okeiph Andrews scored 62 and Romano Pierre, 39.

Javon Nero, with 2 for 10, was Injectors’ most successful bowler.

In response, Dr Thomas Injectors made 72 for 5 from their 10 overs, as Clinchers won by 56 runs.

Wendell Corridon and Desroy Lavia each scored 21 for Injectors, while bowling for Clinchers, Donnalson Harry had 2 for 13.

A late start and a reduced 18 overs per side did not prevent New Level from smothering Combine Rangers by 158 runs.

The batting efforts of Marvin Harry, who scored 63, Rawdon Bentick, 53 and Deptor Culzac saw New Level to 206 for 5 from their 18 overs.

Keith Gibson picked up 3 for 31, bowling for Combine Rangers, who were bowled out for 48 in 11.2 overs.

Bowling for New Level, Winston Holder took 2 for 8, Keymo Browne, 2 for 14 and Colin Lee, 2 for 18.

And, Simple Boys had a 10-wicket win over Full Click.

Lionel Cumberbatch’s 36 led Full Click’s total of 64 all out in 16.5 overs, while Danroy Hazel snared 3 for 15 and Kenny Hunte, 2 for 14.

Simple Boyz reached 65 without loss. Jabari Cunningham scored 39 not out and Kentish Phillips, 19 not out.
